Picking this bad boy up tonight and tomorrow is our planned driving day in the front range and finding some hiking to do in the morning. Who’s got good driving road recommendations within a couple hours of Denver? Planning to mostly see some scenic Vistas and maybe do some easy hiking. Hitting some twisty roads along the way seems like a nice bonus. Was thinking of going to Rocky Mountain national park since I have an America the beautiful pass but there might be too much snow to really enjoy the park.
Have the FiST until Tuesday night with 600 miles available so I should be able to have a good time. We are seeing a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater Monday so it should be a great trip.

Just remember, if it understeers you need to unwind the steering wheel (turn less). Watch out for snap lift-off over steer, and drive within your limits.
I watched a FiST rollover at an autox a couple of years ago, it was brand new and the only mods were sticky tires.

I hear anything west of Boulder is good. That said, I’ve never done it. I’ve only been out that way in weird seasons or short work trips with the old job.

Thw short wheelbase is more of a concern than rollover. He’s on street tires so it won’t get too vertical. It will, however, very gladly oversteer on wet pavement. And the short wheelbase means you have a split second to correct or your ass is grass. Once you get used to sliding it though, it will do lift off oversteer shenanigans very willingly and easily.
....you should probably not intentionally slide it though.

I remember the first time it stepped out in the rain on me. 1/10, almost shit my pants. It bites way quicker than any FWD should.

I had a fiesta rental a while back. Not the st tho. I think you’ll find it smaller than the Miata inside. . That surprised me along with some other things. You’ll have to let us know your thoughts.

The one I watched rollover was on street tires (Bridgestone RE71r’s, so sticky 200tw tires but street tires non-the-less). I don’t think that’s likely on the street though, you just lose all confidence in a car when you watch something like that.

Re71 barely qualifies as a street tire. It's basically a misnomer that it's dot legal lol

I doubt I'll be driving it hard enough to find any limits since I'm with my girlfriend this whole time. And we are more here for the scenery than anything else.

Turo this time, but that's good to know if I ever get lucky and find that one.

After driving it a bit today, i could definitely see what you are saying. Especially with the Recaro seats, the cabin feels cramped. The stupid back seat needs to be entirely removed and a little bit more space for the front and then it’d be ideal. Biggest problem for me seems to be fitting my feet in the footwell. When braking, my foot gets caught up sometimes so it's annoying.

I wonder if the recaro seats make it a tighter fit . Funny is I got more shit for driving the fiesta than I do my Miata. I’m 6’ 4” and naturally people are always amused by me fitting in small cars.
I don’t remember much about the footwell, but just that on a long trip it was less comfortable than my miata. The seating position and leg room was not roomy. It was pretty quick around corners though I do remember that.
